Sudoku is a game designed for a single player, formally similarto a crossword puzzle. It uses a square grid containing nine boxes that contain nine small squares called cells. The grid comes with some cells already filled in<\/p>\n

The goal of the game is to fill the empty cells with numbers 1 through 9 following the basic rules<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

no repeats are allowed in any row<\/strong><\/p>\n

no repeats are allowed in any box<\/strong><\/p>\n

As you can see, no mathematics is involved. As a matter of fact, there are sudoku puzzles that use letters of the alphabet or even pictures<\/p>\n
